A lot of waiting does not look dangerous while it’s happening.
That’s why people do so much of it.
Wait until things calm down. Wait until the business is cleaner. Wait until there’s more money. Wait until the timing feels right.
Sounds reasonable.
Can still cost you a lot.
Delay has a price
The obvious cost is missed progress.
The deeper cost is what keeps not happening while you wait. The conversations you don’t have. The days you don’t get back. The life you keep pushing into a future that is not actually guaranteed.
That’s the problem with waiting.
It usually feels harmless right before it becomes expensive.
Movement is often the better bet
I’m not saying be reckless.
I’m saying stop acting like delay is neutral.
A lot of the time, one honest move now is safer than another month of hiding behind fake readiness.
Because movement creates information. And information creates a better next move.
What’s your next move?
